Two-Part Dog Raincoat FAQ

The belly wrap provides removable, adjustable underbelly protection for faster cleanup after wet walks.

For low-to-the-ground dogs, the belly is ground zero for splash, mud, and street grime, from wet sidewalks to soggy trails.

Instead of washing the entire dog rain jacket after a soggy, muddy walk, remove the belly wrap separately for a quick rinse, or swap it for a clean one and head out again.

Either order works. Choose the easier method for you and your dog. To remove, reverse the steps.

The dog raincoat can be put on or taken off in two simple, quick ways:

Method 1) Slide the raincoat over your dog’s head and down the body. Attach the smaller end of the belly wrap to the chest loop on the raincoat, then fasten the left and right sides of the belly wrap to the matching side loops on the dog raincoat.

Method 2) Start by attaching the smaller end of the belly wrap to the chest loop on the dog raincoat. Then slide the raincoat over your dog’s head and down the body, and fasten the left and right sides of the belly wrap to the matching side loops on the raincoat.

It’s adaptive underbody coverage. The belly wrap anchors at the chest loop and wraps under the front torso for chest + belly protection. It’s unisex and designed to fit male dogs, sitting more forward to avoid interfering with potty breaks.

Start with two key measurements:

1) Back Length — from the base of the neck (collar line) to the start of the tail.

2) Chest / Girth — around the deepest part of the chest (just behind the front legs), wrapping over the spine — the full circumference.

The adjustable hook-and-loop system offers a flexible fit, tailored for comfort and easy movement. Depending on your dog’s breed and build, the rain jacket fit may range from snug to relaxed.

Yes. Our smallest size, XS, fits dogs with a back length of 10–12 in (25–31 cm) and a chest/girth of 12–15 in (31–38 cm). The adjustable hook-and-loop system allows a tailored fit for many toy breeds.

Yes. The neck opening on the dog raincoat is cut wide to accommodate a collar and maintain a relaxed fit. A leash hole on the raincoat back provides access to a collar or harness. Depending on the harness size, it can be worn inside or outside the raincoat.

The dog raincoat and removable belly wraps are water-repellent (not waterproof). The performance softshell fabric sheds everyday rain, resists wind, adds warmth, and stays breathable on the move. In heavy rain or prolonged exposure, moisture can eventually work through.

The dog raincoat is made from recycled fleece-back softshell, a three-layer technical fabric made with 94% recycled polyester and 6% spandex for flexibility, breathability, and warmth without bulk. The recycled polyester comes from post-consumer plastic. With a plant-based, PFAS-free water-repellent treatment (not waterproof), it's wind-resistant and built for movement.

The belly wrap takes the hit. The two-part modular design lets you remove it after a muddy walk, so you wash only the dirty part, not the whole raincoat. That helps save water, detergent, energy, and time. Sustainable by design, not by trend.

We ship our dog raincoats and belly wraps in POLLAST!C mailers made from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic (excluding seals, inks, and colorant), collected from coastal communities and traceable to source, helping keep plastic waste out of the ocean.

We typically process dog raincoat orders within 2-3 business days. Once your order is dispatched, delivery time depends on your location. Estimated transit times:

• USA: 2-7 days
• International: 15-20+ days

If your dog raincoat order hasn’t shipped yet, we’ll do our best to adjust it. Email us at orders@bellyswap.com as soon as possible with your order number and request. Once an order has shipped, we can’t make changes.

Warranty
BellySwap, LLC warrants BellySwap® products purchased from bellyswap.com or an authorized retailer against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.

If you find a defect in the dog raincoat or belly wrap material, stitching, or construction, email returns@bellyswap.com with your order number and detailed photos. Once reviewed and approved, we'll send a replacement.

Not covered
Our Limited Warranty doesn't cover damage from chewing, pulling, accidents, improper care, misuse, excessive or abnormal wear, or the natural aging or fading of fabric or color. That includes creative adventures like rough play, fencing, sliding on gravel, tunneling through thorns, or other off-road pursuits. Final Sale and Closeout items are not covered.

Size exchanges
To request a different size, please email us first. Items must be new, unused, and in re-sellable condition. Once the original item is received, inspected, and approved, we'll ship the replacement. Customers cover the cost of shipping the original item back to us and of shipping the replacement.

Returns — 14 days
We accept eligible returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the dog rain jacket and both belly wraps are new, unused, unwashed, and in original condition, with the original packaging included. A $10 return processing fee applies. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Wrong item or defect
If we sent the wrong item, or there is an eligible manufacturing or material defect reported within 14 days, BellySwap covers shipping both ways. Eligible defects reported after 14 days are handled under the 1-year Limited Warranty.

International

International dog raincoat orders are not eligible for returns.
